Electrical Maintenance Engineer

The role

What the job actually involves.

Our West Midlands mobile engineering team delivers planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown cover and statutory electrical compliance across offices, logistics hubs, retail and public sector estates in Staffordshire. You will keep first time fix rates high, communication with clients clear, and safety standards strict on every site.

You will take full technical ownership of commercial electrical assets across your Staffordshire patch, covering Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Cannock and the surrounding area. Day to day that means diagnosing electrical and control faults on distribution boards, three phase power systems, commercial lighting control and plant room machinery, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, emergency lighting testing and fire alarm inspections, and minor installation and containment work to BS 7671.

Within six months you will know the site portfolio well, have strong relationships with regional estate managers, and be fully on the regional call-out rota. The role is open because of contract expansion and new site wins across Staffordshire.

What we are looking for

• City and Guilds 18th Edition (BS 7671:2018) and NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation or electrotechnical technology, or an equivalent time served apprenticeship; City and Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) inspection and testing highly desirable
• Proven background in commercial electrical maintenance, three phase diagnostics and reactive fault finding on FM contracts or multi-site estates
• A proactive, customer focused approach and strong communication

Package

• Salary £38,000 to £42,000 per annum depending on experience and testing qualifications
• Fully badged company van with fuel card, available for personal use
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

• Standby allowance for a 1 in 5 call-out rota, door to door overtime rates
